The Cooler gang dives into the classic 1950 film Sunset Boulevard for the first chapter in the on-going Our Favorite Movies series.
This week at the Water Cooler, we discuss the first in our new on-going series Our Favorite Movies. Our inaugural pick is one of Clarence's favorite films, Billy Wilder's 1950 masterpiece Sunset Boulevard. We step through the film scene by scene and talk about what makes it a classic. We also gauge Megan’s reaction after a first viewing, and we talk about its modern day legacy as a musical.
In our TV Tidbits segment, we explore the recent news that the highly anticipated American Crime Story: Katrina may not even happen at all. Remember that Versace leap-frogged Katrina just recently with a proposed Katrina start of January 2018. Now, director Anthony Hemingway has doubts that the series will continue at all. Then, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon announced a new television series. What effect will this have on a potential Big Little Lies Season 2? Finally, following up from last week’s Confederate discussion, HBO apologized for botching the announcement, but is it too late?
We close our podcast, as always, with the Flash Forward to the television we’re most anticipating in the upcoming week.
