An all female joint, Suffragette brings together Meryl Streep and Carey Mulligan. The film is directed by Sarah Gavron and written by Abi Morgan about the way-too-late but necessary fight to give women a vote (can you imagine?). JustJared has the pics for both Streep and Mulligan.
Very Dumbledore-y. Love it.
Mouthwatering news that Demme/Streep/Cody project, now there’s something to be excited about. Also in crazy anticipation of a HOMESMAN trailer. When was the last time I was excited about TWO upcoming Streep movies? Answer might be NEVER.
I’m getting an Angels in America’s Ethel Rosenberg vibe from that picture
Why should Meryl slow down?
She has about 4 movies out this year and already 3 in the next line, the newest is a project with Demme and screenplay winner Diabolo Cody.
Do to the subject, here and in the Demme project, I’m sure she will rock it!
BTW, I’ve recently seen A:OC and I think it was a fine ensemble film and much less family drama as the critics made me suggest it would be.
These people were more theatric than Violet Weston herself. *lol*
Just two lines of text and you managed to make two annoying feminist remarks.
New JUPITER ASCENDING trailer!

She just doesn’t stop, not even slow down, does she????
I hope for once people will stop looking at any Meryl movie, especially this one, as a potential Oscar bait for her, and instead will focus on the subject matter!!!
Looking forward to this movie.
In the meantime, people should check out Iron-Jawed Angels. This story needs to be told as many times and from as many different points of view as possible.
I hope Suffragette covers the issues of race and sexual orientation inherent in the struggle.
Just need a suffragette movie telling the American side now.
