Welcome to the annual exercise in futility known as “Predicting the Golden Globes: TV Edition.”

In case you missed our latest Water Cooler Podcast (and really, why would you do that to yourself?), here’s a list of all of our predictions for the big show on Sunday night. Be sure to listen to the next episode of the podcast (Jan. 12) where we’ll be giving our reactions to the winners, the losers and the broadcast itself. 1. Here are my predictions then:

SERIES DRAMA – House of Cards
SERIES MUSICAL COMEDY – Orange Is the New Black
MINISERIES TV FILM – True Detective
ACTOR DRAMA – Kevin Spacey (House of Cards)
ACTRESS DRAMA – Viola Davis (How to Get Away With Murder)
ACTOR MUSICAL COMEDY – Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent)
ACTRESS MUSICAL COMEDY – Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin)
MINISERIES TV FILM ACTOR – Matthew McConaughey (True Detective)
MINISERIES TV FILM ACTRESS – Frances McDormand (Olive Kitteridge)
SUPPORTING ACTOR – Bill Murray (Olive Kitteridge)
SUPPORTING ACTRESS – Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black)

If that does not match the choices I posted on Facebook that means I have changed my mind, but certain it is the same. 🙂

    1. House of Cards is an interesting choice. Don’t you kind of feel like it’s old news?

  2. Yeah I do I suppose (the whole binge-watching thing you mentioned) but there seems to be some buzz about it here and there – it is mentioned on TV here all the time (bloody Netflix ads). Also, I am going with the NOT awarded last year angle – like Orange Is The New Black. Long shot. Hey, I’ll look like a genius if it does win. 😀

  3. Once again, here are mine. (I can’t remember which post I first gave these predix)

Series – Drama = The Affair
Series – Musical or Comedy = Orange Is the New Black
    Mini-Series = Fargo
Actor – Drama = Dominic West (The Affair)
Actress – Drama = Viola Davis (HTGAWM)
Actor – Musical or Comedy = Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent)
Actress – Musical or Comedy = Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep)
Actor – Mini-Series = Billy Bob Thornton (Fargo)
    Actress – Mini-Series = Allison Tolman (Fargo)
    S. Actor – Mini-Series = Jon Voight (Ray Donovan)
    S. Actress – Mini-Series = Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black)

    1. The only one I’ll be surprised about is Voight, but I don’t know what that will be a surprise. The Globes are so unpredictable to me.
