More rumors about Season 2 of True Detective appear to be coming to fruition.
If McAdams signs on the dotted line, she’ll play a cop opposite previously announced Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn. Variety also says Taylor Kitsch is expected to sign on to play a 4th cop.
Expectations are running ridiculously high for Nic Pizzolato’s follow up to the show that seemed to dominate the TV conversation when True Detective debuted earlier this year. Everyone has an opinion about every casting rumor and most of them seem to be negative, but Pizzolato has earned the benefit of a doubt. No one could’ve predicted what the first True Detective turned out to be. The second season has already established it’s going to be different, so let’s see what happens. Like them or not, each cast member announced so far is a unique talent and has something interesting to bring to the table.
I’m curious to see how it all works out. If it bombs, unlike most shows that continue season to season, nothing can change how great that first season was.
