Golden Globe Winners Posted Live as Announced. Live Tweet Links and Widgets Below.
The 2016 Golden Globe winners will be announced tonight in a live NBC ceremony starting at 8pm ET. Ricky Gervais hosts for the fourth time. This is quite remarkable given that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association reportedly refused to ask him back after his first gig. Such is life with fake controversies.
Several television series tied for leading nominations. These series include Fargo, Outlander, American Crime, Transparent, Wolf Hall, and Mr. Robot. This year could be unique if the HFPA bestows the bulk of its awards on new faces. They often like to do this, but not in record numbers. Outlander seems tipped by most experts to win the big prize and possibly Drama Actress. However, Taraji P. Henson will certainly be a formidable contender. Drama Actor is likely to go to heavily buzzed newcomer Rami Malek for his role in Mr. Robot.
Comedy Series is a bit up in the air with no real frontrunner. Prevailing logic has Transparent winning, but any series could reasonably win. Joey Moser’s theory of Comedy Actress going to the ingenue could prove a winner again. This is Rachel Bloom’s for nomination for her musical performance in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Comedy Actor is filled with famous faces in new performances. Don’t be surprised if Jeffrey Tambor is passed up for a buzzier role.

Great opening post Clarence. It’s midnight, and I’m already beat, and have more shitty training at 9am – but never miss this.
