Actress Donna ‘Elly May’ Douglas: 1933 – 2015

Donna Douglas, the actress best known as Elly May, the tomboyish and sweet daughter of patriarch Jed Clampett on TV’s The Beverly Hillbillies (1962-1971), died yesterday at the age of 81.

Douglas played the character for all 9 seasons of the popular sitcom which wound up its final two years as the #1 show on television. She will also be well remembered as Janet Tyler, the desperate plastic surgery patient who just wants to look like everyone else in the iconic 1960 episode of TV’s Twlight Zone, “Eye of the Beholder.”

Her one starring film role was opposite Elvis Presley as Frankie in Frankie and Johnny (1966)

She leaves behind a son from her first marriage.
