Critics Choice TV Nominations Single Out ‘Fargo’

FX Networks Fargo led the field of 2016 Critics Choice Television nominees which were announced this morning. ABC, HBO, and FX Networks led the pack of nominated networks in an eligibility period that ran from June 1 through December 31 as the Critics Choice group chose to combine their awards ceremonies this year. Acclaimed shows like Game of Thrones and Veep weren’t eligible for this nomination round.

FX’s Fargo received eight nominations to lead all series with HBO’s The Leftovers and Amazon’s Transparent next with six apiece. NBC’s recent The Wiz Live! received five nominations. The nominees this year included a number of newer faces, perhaps due to the reduced eligibility window.
