You want more award nominations?! Of course you do!
On Wednesday afternoon, the Director’s Guild announced their nominations for television and commercials. Can we have a 12 minute ceremony devoted to the commercial category? Think how awesome that would be: an opening number by Hugh Jackman, one award, maybe an In Memoriam, and then it’d be done!
This is the only awards where Angela Bassett would go head to head with the Oscar winning director of Crash. That’s awards season for you. Last year’s Comedy Series winner, Jill Soloway, will defend her DGA win for Transparent, Matthew Weiner might win his first DGA ever for the final season of Mad Men. The beloved series have taken this award before, but Weiner has yet to take it home himself.
