Twin Peaks. When we last saw Laura Palmer in one of Dale Cooper’s dreams, she told the detective she’d see him again in 25 years and she was right. Sheryl Lee is confirmed to be rejoining Kyle McLachlan’s Dale Cooper when David Lynch’s cult series returns to Showtime in 2016, 25 years after it left the air. Also returning are Dana Ashbrook as her boyfriend Bobby Briggs and it is speculated that Sherilyn Fenn may return as Audrey Horne. (Wrap)
Upcoming Shows
Groundbreakers. John Waters is set to present and offer commentary on classic porn on this new Playboy Channel series. The schedule includes such legendary ’70s porn titles as Deep Throat (1972), The Devil in Miss Jones (1973), Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here, Candy Stripers (1978) and Debbie Does Dallas (1978). The first show airs January 17. If nothing else, I hope this series heralds the return of big hairy bushes in porn. (Variety)

Chicago Med. TV show spinoffs are officially starting to irritate. NBC’s long planed spinoff of Chicago Fire is getting closer to being a real thing with a seed being planted in the main series later this season. According to NBC head Bob Greenblatt, the show ” is something that we’re just seeding into the system, seeing if there’s a show there that could eventually spin off into itself.” (Deadline)
Returning Shows
Night Shift. Danielle Alonzo’s psychiatrist character Dr. Landry De La Cruz won’t be returning for the NBC show’s second season. According to the show’s executive producer Jeff Judah, the show is going to focus more on paramedics and surgery. (Wrap)
