I’ve been absent lately (reenacting Michael Moore’s Sicko the past few days, and too cranky to be allowed near a keyboard.) This video via Salon.com from Red State Update is as uneven as any they churn out, but I think it’s worth the slog through the fizzled bits to cull the random chuckles.
I missed some good topics this week, so this serves as a catch-up comeback entry. It manages to stitch together several recent discussions in one big clumsy package: The relevance of the undeniable interplay of politics and cinema, particularly in a historic election year; the wackiness of Oliver Stone’s W; controversial directors and their sticky predilections; the HBO miniseries John Adams; and new Oscar categories that might liven up the night and attract better ratings. This clip maybe even gives us a glimpse at the type of moviegoer who doesn’t need no stinkin’ critic to tell him what’s good and what ain’t.
All part of my ongoing effort to bring balance to the site with a more conservative, right-wing point of view.
