On the heels of Rachel Getting Married and Bride Wars, Anne Hathaway continues to make a career out of every possible stage of matrimony with the newly revived rom-com, The Fiancé.
Monsters and Critics reports: In the film, Hathaway handles the role of a woman with a life crisis who cancels her upcoming wedding and drops her fiance so she can try to figure out who she really is. Her parents then try to get the two back together – which makes it impossible for her to move on with her life.
The script is having a rewrite done by Etan Cohen (“Tropic Thunder”). It was originally written by Dyanne Stempel and Jennifer Robinson.
Really. Give it to the Tropic Thunder guy to redo. What would two girl writers know about a concept like this? Good thing Anne Hathaway has managers and agents who understand how to position her performance in Rachel Getting Married as something unique and special.
