Reader Nadeem tips us to this one-minute clip that’s surfaced on youtube from the closing night gala at the London Film Festival. It’s hard not to be reminded of City of God, but easy to see it has a frisky vitality all its own. Nadeem writes:
I felt it gave a better idea of the mood and feel and the film. It was significantly more exhilarating. Biggest thing to note was A.R. Rahman’s background score. I’m biased, but it sounds brilliant. The style is very typically his and the vocals in the background are his as well. Here’s hoping he get’s recognized… It’s just my opinion, but you have to be next-level talented to somehow make the slums of Mumbai look exciting without making them look completely appalling. Seriously looking forward to this!
Couldn’t have said it better myself, Nadeem so I won’t even try.
