The hard-working AJ Schnack over at All These Wonderful Things catches a bit of history maybe we Oscar watchers were unaware of:
Continuing his string of honors, Ari Folman picked up the Documentary Screenplay Award from the Writers Guild of America for WALTZ WITH BASHIR, and in so doing becomes the first person to win both the WGA and DGA awards for Documentary.
We know that the doc awards are fairly new, but still, it’s worth nothing the interesting crossover appeal for Waltz, which floats around in foreign, doc and animated. How many films can you say that about? Bravo to Ari Folman for rewriting the rules for everything all at once.
