The Farrelly brothers have finally found their Stooges. THR says Jim Carrey will join Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro, teaming up for some slapstick as Curly Joe, Larry and Moe Howard. It’s not a biopic, but a brand new Stooges adventure. (“Sweet and Lowbrow”?)
Moe: The treasure! We found it!
Larry: Now Jimmy can get his operation!
Curly: There’s enough here for all of us to have an operation!
How about a head transplant?! (A couple of sites have played around with grafting the noggins of Oscar winners onto vintage stooge bodies, so why should they have all the nyuk-nyuk-nyuks?) With an expected 2010 release date, filming begins this Fall, giving Jim Carrey a few months to put on 40 pounds to so he can fill Curly’s britches.
