Nathaniel Rogers makes up his list of those who are most overdue for an Oscar win now that Kate Winslet can be crossed off the list. And wouldn’t you know it would end up with Michelle Pfeiffer at number 1?

01 La Pfeiffer 3 nominations
The evidence: Scarface, Married to the Mob, Dangerous Liaisons, The Fabulous Baker Boys, The Russia House, Frankie & Johnny, Batman Returns, Love Field, The Age of Innocence, What Lies Beneath and White Oleander. I rest my case.
I don’t know, I need to see something a little more risky from Ms. Pfeiffer, she who turned down The Silence of the Lambs for being too violent. It can’t all be roses and sunshine, lady, if you want the gold. You know it’s love when Nat cites What Lies Beneath as one of the arguments FOR Ms. Pfeiffer’s award. But he’s right – since it doesn’t really take much to win an Oscar these days (Penelope Cruz) and it IS a popularity contest, Pfeiffer should have won long ago and she is very good in many of her roles — incredibly versatile. Ian McKellen would be my number one choice – it’s an embarrassment in all possible ways that he has yet to win one, followed by Julianne Moore
