ok, I confess to knowing zip about The Last Airbender, except that he’s based on Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender. After seeing this trailer I’ve learned that he has impressive skills at blowing out candles. Seems to me that an armada of 500 aircraft carriers firing cruise missiles at Little Mr. Candle-Blower-Outer is overkill, but like I say, I know zip about his mythology or what else he might be threatening to blow out. Paramount has reserved July 2, 2010, for the opening so no doubt it’s important. ah, here we go:
The series follows the adventures of the main protagonist Aang and his friends, who must save the world by defeating the Fire Lord and ending the destructive war with the Fire Nation.
Avatar: The Last Airbender takes place in a fantasy world that is home to humans, fantastic animals, and spirits. Human civilization is divided into four nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Air Nomads, and the Fire Nation. Each nation has its own natural element, on which it bases its society. Within each nation exists an order called “Benders” who have the ability to manipulate the eponymous element of their nation. The show‚Äôs creators assigned each Bending art its own style of martial arts, causing it to inherit the advantages and weaknesses of the martial arts it was assigned. The Bending types are Waterbending, Earthbending, Firebending, and Airbending
