Part of the publicity for Scorsese’s upcoming Shutter Island is a Twitter campaign as outlined in this fearnet post:
We just learned that with the upcoming release of Martin Scorsese’s¬†Shutter Island, fans of the great filmmaker — and his¬†frequent collaborator¬†Leonardo DiCaprio — will have a chance to ask questions about the pair’s latest effort (which horror fans will hopefully¬†enjoy the¬†HELL out of.)¬†Through the magic of Twitter — or, more specifially,¬†#AskLeo and #AskScorsese –¬†fans are encouraged to post a question to¬†DiCaprio or¬†Scorsese using the “Ask” hash tags.¬†5 questions will be selected for each gentleman,¬†and asked¬†at the film’s junket this Friday.
Going by some of the early word on this (not that I put a lot of faith in the early word) it was probably a good thing that the Scorsese movie got out of the way for Oscar season.¬†¬† Now it’s being released in February, not the best time to release any movie. I myself cannot wait to see it. Harry Knowles says Leo would have been a shoo-in for Best Actor (in this very crowded year, though?). Anyway, bad accent alert.
