Kris Tapley points out that the last time a film won the LA Film Critics, the NY Film Critics and the National Society it was LA Confidential. And guess which film beat it?
Seriously, there are so many weird little details in this race. Like the LA Confidential vs. As Good as it Gets vs. Titanic looking a lot like Hurt Locker vs. Up in the Air vs. Avatar. I wrote about this a while back but I somehow thought that it wouldn’t play out exactly the same way. I still think there is some wiggle room in this year’s race. It would be funny if it happened — maybe George Clooney and Vera Farmiga will win the acting awards on top of that.
Incontention also has a handy dandy precursor circuit page with all of the awards listed in an easy-to-read way.
This is very exciting and WELL deserved, especially for Renner. Also, that’s two major critics’ awards for Yolande Moreau. Full list from Indiewire. Break by Gold Derby.
