As picked up by ONTD from People:
But Carey [Mulligan] does have fans on her side, including director Quentin Tarantino, who says, “She is fantastic. I haven’t done my voting yet and I haven’t decided between her and Gabby [Gabourey Sidibe]. It is actually one of the tougher ones and I don’t think I’ll be able to choose until I’m there ready to write it.”
Another thing to note about Carey Mulligan and this year’s Oscars. In case you’re wondering why she is never appearing with her boyfriend Shia LaBoef? It is an example of how a high profile relationship can damage an Oscar run. It shouldn’t be so, but it often is. Other weird personal stuff that effects the race: if you’re the “other woman” that a beloved Hollywood star cheated with? Abbie Cornish, Claire Danes, etc. Or if you’ve recently been dumped by big Hollywood star – that sympathy often helps win Oscars. Imagine the craziness if Mulligan showed up anywhere near the red carpet with Shia in tow.
