The odds are on the Ken Loach’s Route Irish, a late entry to the Cannes Film Fest, will win the whole thing. The Loach film is about two ex-soldiers moving to Iraq to work as private contractors. Loach is considered a favorite because of his past record with the Golden Palme — most recently, Loach won for The Wind that Shakes the Barley. Oscar, of course, knows nothing of Loach.
