Life During Wartime vs. Art During Wartime

Apologies to 13-year-old Dylan Riley Snyder for suggesting a few days ago that there’s anything “off-kilter” “creepy” or “sinister” about the artist’s rendition of his demeanor in the illustrated poster for Life During Wartime. um, clearly in real life he’s perfectly pleasant, unscary, and delightful. Really quite adorable how his placid presence makes a sunny glen in springtime seem not at all like a Magritte nightmare.
