The first full-length Technicolor film was Becky Sharp in 1935. (Check out the promo after the cut.) Though there had been experimental effects done with tinting and hand-stenciling as far back as George M√©li√®s in the early 1900’s, Vulture uncovers this test reel for a full-color film process in 1922. Easy to take science and tech developments for granted in this age of visual marvels, but it’s nice to look back at first baby-steps taken with innovations like this.
