Through channels that I’m sure are greased in ways I don’t like to think about, The Wrap got their hands on an email that appears to outline all the projects in development at Paramount for the next couple of years. The Wrap is saying Paramount’s slate has been “exposed” but I’ll use a less pejorative verb instead. ‘Accidentally revealed’ in a ‘premature press release’ makes it sound less like The Wrap caught Paramount with its pants down at Pee-Wee’s ArtHouse. There are plenty of projects here worthy of a proud announcement — and I assume the plan was for everybody to find out about these titles eventually, right? Not as if email is really known for it’s airtight security, so how about we downplay the gotcha aspect, ok?
Not that I spend a lot of time fretting over ethical dilemmas, but I hope nobody thinks it’s wrong of me to just borrow the entire jpg facsimile of the email that The Wrap somehow stole obtained . Because it’s a lot of trouble to retype the whole thing. (As if The Wrap wasn’t expecting absconders like me, since they’ve watermarked the email with The Wrap The Wrap The Wrap all over it — you know, sort of the same way graffiti taggers claim ownership of railroad cars. But in spite of all that I still got past the RFID gate with it. Have I teased gently enough and mentioned The Wrap The Wrap enough? I sure wouldn’t want to piss off anybody over there and have them come snooping around my emails to ‘expose’ what’s on my slate.)
Enough kidding around. You can find Paramount’s “Sneak Peek!” email after the cut. Maybe it would be interesting to ask which of this projects you’re most excited to see ‘exposed’? Or you could search the list for projects that are really any surprise — because at first glance I don’t see much we hadn’t already heard about weeks or months ago.
