Kelly Reichardt’s western from a woman’s perspective, Meek’s Cutoff, has been chosen by the critics who voted in indieWIRE’s poll as the best narrative film at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. Acting¬†honors went to James Franco for 127 Hours, followed in the voting by Natalie Portman for Black Swan. Best supporting performer was Geoffrey Rush in The King’s Speech.¬†¬†Chosen as best documentary was Tabloid, directed by Errol Morris.
