We can thank comic-con for the avalanche of excellent trailers stacking up all week, as studios polish their hottest fuck-me pumps with spiked acrylic heels and sparkly rhinestone straps, ready to strut their stuff for the fan-boy brigade. While the instandorsements have been generally favorable, the biggest quibbles with two important teasers has been the choice of music that many felt wrecked the mood of the visuals with anachronistic clashes of tone.
We’ve found alternate versions of the trailers for Hugo and Mission: Impossible 4. One’s a legitimate studio mix that restores faith in Lalo Schifrin’s classic theme for the IMF (Impossible Missions Force). The other is more experimental, reimagining Hugo with the sort of soundtrack Scorsese is better known for, after the cut.
