MTV Awards – Who’s Showing Up?

It’s not a pretty picture, watching all that is good and holy, devolve into one big ooze of celebrity worship. But there you have it. Once a joke, the MTV awards, like every other award show, attract the top talent. They have to be popular with the kids. Was a time, all the way back in the 1970s, when actors felt it beneath them to attend award shows — they just didn’t show up. Marlon Brando, Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino, etc. Now, if MTV called you bet they’d be there. The bottom line is the bottom line.

The news has been a-buzz with whether Jennifer Lawrence will add MTV to her spate of awards.  Oh come on, you know they’ll go for Emmanuelle Riva instead.  Because one thing Jennifer Lawrence surely isn’t — popular with the tweens and teens.

Also rumored: Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper to win Best Kiss y’all!  Can’t wait! So excited! Should we run a poll? Look, I’m not watching unless Ryan Gosling is going to be there.

I know, I know, as Hannibal would say, “Your problem is you need to get more fun out of life.”
