As much as we dislike the idea of previews of previews of trailers, sometimes we all fall prey to unsavory temptations. It’ll do till the full trailer debuts Monday.

There’s a thr.com story that Fincher was fired from the Steve Jobs movie….I dunno….Steve Jobs movie again? The man was about as interesting and exciting as a George Bush painting.
Fincher really needs to get rid of the cat that keeps urinating on his film stock.
Seriously anybody who thinks Affleck was good in Argo needs to get his check up done…
^^ This.
Off topic: Has anyone checked the Instant Video list at AMZ? A lot of newly released theatricals are on the list, like Afflicted and Joe. I guess the thoughts of going to the movie house to see a movie are quickly dwindling, when I can get the newly released movie on my computer (Tv).
Isn’t UNBROKEN based on the same true story as THE RAILWAY MAN? The trailers look like they’re from the same movie.
I was also annoyed by the cinematography, but I guess he’s not afraid of repeating himself.
Can’t wait for the teaser though, looks great.
It won’t be nominated in cinematography. Roger deakins should win for unbroken
The Fincher aesthetic is in full effect
“I love Cronenweth’s dark tones but they’re becoming too uniform”
This is fair. There’s a lot of different looks in the SE7EN-through-ZODIAC period. SOCIAL NETWORK, DRAGON WITH THE GIRL TATTO, and NOW GONE GIRL seem to have depended a lot on the colorist to not end up looking way too similar. SE7EN remains Fincher’s most beautiful film to date (film).
Fincher is a director so his word counts on how the movie would look like, how it’s to be shot. That’s where Cronenweth comes in, together they’ve been making different films with same cinematography since Fight Club 1999.
Fincher even made Zodiac with Savides and Benjamin Button with Claudio Miranda in similar fashion.
I love Cronenweth’s dark tones but they’re becoming too uniform in Fincher’s films. Anyways who am i to object, i love Fincher and i love Cronenweth.
A lot of fans of “dark” in this site.
Cronenworthcinematography is some of the most darkest electIfrying photography.
“Cronenweth’s similar cinematography in every film of his. It’s like Clint Eastwood never intending to give up on his sepia gray tone”
I think he’s just gone “realist” with the switch to digital, by this I only mean a quality of the image, one conveys reality (as opposed to natural, minimal or so-called verite). Eastwood practically stopped lighting the scenes a while a go. Actually how can you compare? Fincher is a director.
Seriously anybody who thinks Affleck was good in Argo needs to get his check up done…
And what’s up with Fincher, i’ve had enough of Cronenweth’s similar cinematography in every film of his. It’s like Clint Eastwood never intending to give up on his sepia gray tone.
I’ve got the book. But I dropped it one-fifth of the entire story or so from the beginning because to me it seemed in want of something, a je ne sais quoi, which otherwise could have drawn me for more and continued interesting me for that reason . . . .
That said, thanks to Dave Fincher’s trustworthy name, the Hollywood budget *strictly from a viewer’s viewpoint*, as well as my own impression that given what seems to be the more or less dark tone of the entire story despite the unfinished read, it could possibly work more easily as a feature film with studios budget and in a right hand a la Fincher’s, (so) I take it that this film should be something solid and fun at least as far as mainstream goes — for now I don’t see how this could turn out to be something related to awards season (Make no mistake: I am NOT implying anything negative as to why it’s been embedded here; rather, mine [my] heart is gladdened. . . . xD)
Re the Gigli uberstar, I guess Fincher (and other producers et al for that matter) may have seen something relevant in Affleck and so he could relate with the latter in addition to the business-as-usual factors we most of us could already discern or at least believed we could . . . . So, trusting Fincher, etc., fingers crossed, I’m also looking forward to this film co-starring Ben Affleck and the talented Rosamund Pike [sp].
Acting-wise, there are two types of Ben Affleck performance:
1. Solid, impressive, and obviously cares about the project {Good Will Hunting, Boiler Room, The Town, Argo}
2. And the rest of the blockbusters, attempts at romance, comedies, superhero mediocrity – which is most of his total acting work.
I suspect Gone Girl belongs in the former…
Eduardo, how can you judge Ben Affleck for only like 12 seconds of screen time??
Looks awesome to me!!
Affleck is perfect for it.
And just with 20 seconds, confirms the miscasting of Affleck
Actress??
Definitely looks Oscar worthy.

I hate teasers of teasers, but I can’t tear my eyes away from this.
