PGA announces key dates for 2015 Awards

LOS ANGELES (April 21, 2014) – The Producers Guild of America announced today the opening of the submissions and key deadlines for consideration for the 2015 Producers Guild Awards. The 26th Annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.

Competitive honors to be announced at the 2015 Producers Guild Awards include:

• The Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Sports Program
• The Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Children’s Program
• The Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Digital Series

The Guild will use its awards submission website – www.producersguildawards.com – to provide a fully digital interface for submission for its 12 competitive categories. Competitive honors to be presented at the 2015 Producers Guild Awards include:

• The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures
• The Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures
• The Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Pictures
• The David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Long-Form Television
• The Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer Episodic Television – Drama
• The Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television – Comedy
• The Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Producer of Non-Fiction Television
• The Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Producer of Live Entertainment/Talk Television
• The Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Producer of Competition Television

Submission deadlines and other key dates for the 2015 Producers Guild Awards are as follows:

• May 16, 2014 – Deadline for Notice of Producing Credits Form for Television Series and Specials (All Comedy, Drama, Non-Fiction, Competition, Live Entertainment/Talk Television and Children’s Programs. DOES NOT INCLUDE LONG-FORM TELEVISION or SPORTS PROGRAMS)
• September 5, 2014 – Deadline for Notice of Producing Credits Form for Feature Documentary Motion Pictures, as well as submission of screeners for feature Documentary Motion Pictures
• September 19, 2014 – Deadline for Notice of Producing Credits Form for Digital Series and Sports Programs
• September 26, 2014 – Deadline for Notice of Producing Credits Form for Theatrical Motion Pictures and Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures
• October 24, 2014 – Deadline for Notice of Producing Credits Form for Long-Form Television and Sports Programs.
• October 27, 2014 – Television Series and Specials and Digital Series Nomination Polls Open
• November 24, 2014 – Television Series and Specials and Digital Series Nomination Polls Close
• November 26, 2014 – Producers Guild Awards Nominees are Announced for Television Series and Specials, Digital Series, Feature Documentary Motion Pictures
• December 1, 2014 – Theatrical Motion Pictures, Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures, Long-Form Television Nomination Polls Open
• January 2, 2015 –  Theatrical Motion Pictures, Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures, Long-Form Television Nomination Polls Close
• January 5, 2015 – Producers Guild Awards Nominees are Announced for All Categories, including Theatrical Motion Pictures, Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures, Long-Form Television; Final Polls Open
• January 23, 2015 – Final Polls Close for All Categories (12:00 pm P.S.T.)
• January 24, 2015 – 2015 PRODUCERS GUILD AWARDS at Hyatt Regency Century Plaza

In 1990, the Producers Guild held the first-ever Golden Laurel Awards, which were renamed the Producers Guild Awards in 2002. Richard Zanuck and Lili Fini Zanuck took home the award for Best Produced Motion Picture for Driving Miss Daisy, establishing the Guild’s awards as a bellwether for the Oscars. This past year, the Producers Guild recognized the producers of both Gravity, Alfonso Cuaron and David Heyman, and 12 Years a Slave, Anthony Katagas, Jeremy Kleiner, Steve McQueen, Brad Pitt and Dede Gardner, with its Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures, marking the seventh consecutive year the Producers Guild has presaged the Motion Picture Academy’s choice. The Producers Guild also honored several special individuals including Bob Iger (Milestone Award), Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli (David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures), Chuck Lorre (Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television), Chris Meledandri (Visionary Award), Peter Jackson, Joe Letteri and Weta Digital (Vanguard Award), as well as the powerful motion picture Fruitvale Station (Stanley Kramer Award).
