Eminem is one of the most talented musicians out there — his bothersome use of the f-word (not fuck) has calmed a bit through the years, thankfully. There is no denying his genius. He just confirmed on his Facebook page that Spike Lee will be directing Headlights, the apology song he wrote to his mother, which is already a tearjerker. As is.
Christoper, relax.
The pride of warren, michigan. He’s practically my neighbor and he’s a nice guy:)
Once again, we let someone off the hook for that “f” word. I mean, it’s not REALLY as bad as the “n” word is it? Somehow I feel that if a white kid from the suburbs was wrapping about “insert “N” word” that people would not be so lenient with him. And there isn’t any guess work here-he DOES say the word-and it’s time we stop dismissing his use of it as “okay” just because many think he is talented. Spike Lee of all people should know this-I know he would be right up the behind of any young white rapper that was using a racial slur in a derogatory manner. In fact, he would probably write a 12 page post about it on Huffpost.
I am not an unbendable person-I don’t hold it against Isaiah Washington or Tracy Morgan-they have recanted things they have said and apologized for their actions.
However, liberals (and I AM a liberal) seem to give Marshall a pass because he pretends he grew up in an urban area.
So the fact that Lee would even do this shows that he himself is pretty much a hypocrite.
Spike Lee has the guts.
He was good in Funny People
Agreed. 8 Mile was something that totally caught me off guard. He seemed really natural in front of the camera.
I know 8 Mile was really a one-off for Eminem (not to mention type cast) but I wish he would try acting again. He has a magnetic personality that is obvious in his interviews and music videos.
