Robin Hood — the kind of fantastical story people told each other 80 or 800 years ago before they had the imagination to come up with Kryptonite and alien life forms. Not judging! Just sayin, it’s all the same: Guys in tight leggings with skills of heroic “destiny” saving the general population from ruthless villains who use their “divine” powers for evil. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
If you hate Captain America and Catwoman then you have to hate Scheherazade and Robin Hood, and then you have to hate Athena and Adonis. Because they all fulfill the same purpose for the human psyche — our need to create mythical legendary saviors to whom we can aspire.
This movie looks fun. It looks like My Favorite Year and that’s high praise. Trailer and poster after the cut.
Only Kline could play Flynn.
Kevin Kline is one of my all time favorite actors that the world at large seems to have forgotten about. He had the briefest, fake resurgence with Life as a House, but since then has been off the grid (aside from Last Vegas).
I really wish someone would give him a big meaty role on tv, this man needs more work!
I dunno, it looks really tame. Defanged. Reminds me of those recent movies; Hitchcock, My Week With Marilyn etc. The sort of something your granny would say… “Where’s all the sex and drugs and debauchery?”
Looks a little creepy to me, but maybe that’s the point.
Love that trailer, LOVE that poster!
And Dakota doesn’t look to be ACTING in this, which is refreshing! Love her.
