Based on the memoir by Amy-Jo Albany, LOW DOWN is a compassionate, tender look at the complex relationship between Amy-Jo (Elle Fanning) and her father Joe (John Hawkes), a man torn between his musical ambition, his devotion to his teenage daughter, and his suffocating heroin addiction. Set against a sensuously textured 1970s Hollywood, the film beautifully evokes a colorful, seedy world of struggling musicians, artists, and vagabonds, in which Joe and Amy-Jo strive to live the lives they want against seemingly insurmountable odds.
I second every single positive sentiment recorded here about Glenn Close, and every single one that acknowledges the absolute impossibility of her winning shit for this film. Fs life.
Loved this trailer. Hawkes impressed the heck out of me with “Winter’s Bone”, “Martha Marcy May Marlene” and “The Sessions” (for which he should have been nominated for an Oscar,by the way), I only expect great things from this talented actor. And Glenn Close <3 <3 <3
Everyone looks great in this. Hopefully Oscar takes notice.
Supporting actress Oscar for Glenn Close!
Well it’s not gonna happen. Close won’t even be nominated
It would be great if Julianne and Glenn take home Oscars this year.
Damn, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea and Glenn Close in the same film…???. Great
Can you imagine the press room photos of Julianne and Glenn holding their Oscars? Too good to be true…
Terrific trailer, terrific cast. Jeff Preiss is an unknown quantity as a filmmaker but all looks very promising so far, this looks like one to watch! Hopefully we get at least one scene between Headey and Dinklage for us GoT fans.
Looks Awesome!!! Does Hawkes, Fanning and close have Oscar chances for this??
Glenn Close for Supporting! It can be a year of incredibly overdue actresses taking everyone out!
GLENN CLOSE GO GET EM!!!
Whoa. Looks damn excellent. I had not idea about this film.
