I tell you true, one of the saddest things to me every night there’s a major awards event is when we have avid readers on the site trying to find a way to watch but coming up empty-handed. All the interest and enthusiasm of our AD friends around the world hits a brick wall when they come around to share a big night with the rest of us. Last night our friend, Vincenzo left this note in the comments: “Good night guys and have fun. No links working from Italy. I go to bed 🙁 ”
It always crushes my heart to see things like this. Finding replay clips of Oscar Night the day after is virtually impossible because the Academy is way more concerned with keeping their cash cow in a windowless cage than they are in nurturing a new generation of Oscar watches. Thankfully, TNT and the SAGAwards understand the priceless value of making highlights of their ceremony available online so movielovers can watch them anytime anywhere they want. My fingers were crossed that this year we’d see the same spirit of generosity, and this morning I was not disappointed. We’re happy to post a collection of all the best speeches from last night’s awards gala, for Vincenzo and all the other hundreds or thousands of people who had to miss the love show because of international licensing entanglements. Enjoy.

Thanks to Ryan, Zach (and anybody else) for providing the links ad hoc yesterday, or perhaps this early morning, on the SAG live thread [it’s Tuesday evening (here), and I’m freelanced working and resting at odd hours; so, my sense of time doesn’t work out the way it should be . . . like the 9-to-5 suits, plus, as I’ve mentioned, the different time zone].
(Ryan-upped link on the SAG live thread had worked just fine before the Debbie Reynolds acceptance speech; somehow it was frozen afterwards.
But usually, I appreciate the journey itself rather than the destination; so, Kudos to Ryan [and Zach (your link not working, though [lol], but thanks for hospitality)] for getting out of his way — then and now.)
Looks like the Tube clips belong to a TNT-owned channel, too. Likewise, kudos to TNT for that.
(That said, off topic aside, I think you [TNT] should bring back Brenda Leigh Johnson; I like Major Crimes, too, no offense, the series basically better than nothing, but Closer rocks more as far as a mainstream series goes. And some suits in the Tinseltown should give Mrs. Kevin Bacon [Kyra Sedgwick] another silver screen chance; she’s amazing! Just say’n.
I watch all TNT shows on WB-TV channel, by the way.)
(Now, I’m going to check out the clips here on AD.)
Thanks soooo much from Spain for these Ryan!!! Really apprecciated it!!
yay, Vincenzo, I’m really happy to hear that.
The best lifetime speech I remember was Ernest Borgnine. I do wish the old timers would at least have a written speech when they accept these awards.
Thank you Ryan, I really appreciated. This morning I whatched the show on internet without knowing anything about the winners. So it was like whatching it live 🙂
