I forgot to press play. I just kept staring at Tom Hardy’s face.
“My sister has it,” “you have that power too” – that’s all verbatim from RotJ? Feels like something was added to make us think that Luke was talking to the next generation (unlike the obvious throwback of ID4.2). Okay, still seemed relatively excessive
I’d like to point out that after I watched the “Big Short” trailer, I saw an ad to the right of it that says “PUSH BUTTON GET MORTGAGE.”
Which is awesome. Next time I see the trailer for A Clockwork Orange, how about an ad to the right that says “here’s how to let freaks penetrate you with batons while playing ‘Singin’ in the Rain.'”
Nothing bad at all. Yes, trailers use stuff outside the film all the time. But this was literally more than 1 minute total of dialogue from outside the film – I’d be surprised if Harry Potter or anyone else ever did that.

Even more off-topic than Chus von Demuth, but has any trailer prior to “The Force Awakens” featured more dialogue that wasn’t actually in the movie? I mean you had Luke saying “The Force is strong in my family…” etc, none of that was in the movie. You had Finn saying “I have nowhere else to go now” or whatever that was, not in the movie. And there’s more. I understand sometimes you have VO narration in a trailer, but this went beyond that. Just funny to me.
Completely off-topic, but I’ve just noticed Margot Robbie is likely to become the face of 2016. She’s aiming even to a triple nom at the Globes… Comedy with “WTF”, Drama with “The Legend of Tarzan” and Supporting for “Suicide Squad”, which given what’s seen in the trailer, makes her a likely Oscar nominee in that category, if the film lives up to expectations.
Watch out. The three projects look really good on paper because of… everything involved.
agreed
The Mad Max trailer was almost better than the movie.
Yes. It deserves everything.
Mad Max wins.
