Watch this exclusive brand new clip from the upcoming Stephen Frears film, Florence Foster Jenkins starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant. In this clip, Cosme McMoon (Simon Helberg) tells St Clair Bayfield (Hugh Grant) that maybe the show’s star should take some more time to prepare for the show.
Florence Foster Jenkins is based on the true story of a New York heiress who dreams of becoming an opera singer and becomes one despite her awful singing voice. Streep play the title character, and Hugh Grant plays her husband/manager Bayfield. He wants to protect her from and works to help her achieve her dream. Jenkins would play Carnegie Hall at the age of 76 and audiences would come to see her for comic relief.
Helberg who plays Cosme McMoon and is best known for his role as Howard on The Big Bang Theory actually plays the piano in the movie. He grew up studying jazz piano and learned to study operatic piano for the role.
Florence Foster Jenkins will be released in the US on August 12.
