The poster for Martin Scorsese’s poster has been released by Paramount Pictures. Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver play Christian missionaries who travel to Japan in search of their missing mentor, Liam Neeson.
It is Neeson who is the dominant figure in the first official poster based on Shusaku Endo’s 1966 acclaimed novel. Scorsese has spent 28 years working on this, and we will finally get our first glimpse at Silence this weekend when Paramount releases the trailer. The trailer will also be shown before Allied.
The official synopsis reads:
Martin Scorsese’s SILENCE tells the story of two Christian missionaries (Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver) who face the ultimate test of faith when they travel to Japan in search of their missing mentor (Liam Neeson) – at a time when Christianity was outlawed and their presence forbidden. The celebrated director’s 28-year journey to bring Shusaku Endo’s 1966 acclaimed novel to life will be in theaters this Christmas.
Silence will be released on December 23, and so we wait, but for now, check out the poster below:
