Although the nominations haven’t been revealed yet, so far this is how it’s been shaking down. If the song wins, Miranda will be an EGOT recipient, winning an Emmy, a Grammy, a Tony and an Oscar — for him it will have been all in the same year. For me, and for many others, Miranda’s Hamilton will be the beautiful last gasp of the Obama era.
