It’s an easy mistake to make because both women worked on Bright Star. If you do a search for Janet Patterson you’ll see this on Youtube, which might make you think the one in the photo was Janet Patterson but it’s really Jan Chapman. So last night when the In Memoriam segment mixed the two up it doesn’t seem far outside the realm of possibility.
And if you look at this news video about Patterson who should pop up at the end but a photo of Jan Chapman:
On almost every search for her a photo of Jan Chapman comes up because they worked together. This is the only photo I could find of a young Janet Patterson:
