In this fan-suggested topic, the Cooler gang looks back at their favorite underrated TV shows. Plus, reviews of The Beguiled and Spider-Man: Homecoming.
With the 2017 Emmy nominations under our belt, we wanted to honor a fan-suggested topic. So, we take a step back and look at some of the more underrated and oft-forgotten television shows of recent memory. We start with shows from the 2017 Emmy® season. What great, underrated TV shows do the Academy and viewers largely ignore? Then, we step farther back and consider older series that deserved more attention than they received. Be sure to listen for a controversial pick from Megan!
Returning to TV Tidbits, we talk about the recent news of BBC’s Doctor Who casting its first female doctor. Then, we look at the casting of Alec Baldwin in “the Jack Nicholson role” for NBC’s live production of Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men. Finally, we close with a look at two major summer films: Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled and Sony/Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
We close our podcast, as always, with the Flash Forward to the television we’re most anticipating in the upcoming week. Next week, we’re revisiting Netflix’s Stranger Things, and on July 31, we kick off Our Favorite Movies with Sunset Boulevard.
