Last Thanksgiving, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino found success with the release of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, with audiences gathering around their TV (or pretty much any device) to catch up with Rory and Lorelei over turkey and leftovers.
A year later, the Palladinos could be experiencing similar success with the release of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which drops on Amazon on Wednesday, November 29.
Here’s the official Marvelous Mrs. Maisel trailer:
The series follows sassy 1950s divorcee-and-mother Miriam “Midge” Maisel (played by the remarkable Rachel Brosnahan), who finds herself in stand-up comedy after the demise of her marriage.
This is one show—and actress—to watch for the 2018 Emmy race. In the pilot, Brosnahan (House of Cards, Manhattan) is a revelation. The Water Cooler Podcast recently discussed placement for the show, as it would have to go drama since it’s an hour-long series. Do yourself a favor and watch the pilot on Amazon NOW.
