Call Me By Your Name did some fantastic numbers over the weekend, with a 100K plus average per theater, putting it alongside La La Land’s massive opening take and setting it up to become a $100 million baby. Darkest Hour ran in just 4 theaters and earned a 44K average, less than Call Me By Your Name but still impressive. Coco took the weekend, earning a massive $71M total so far.
All in all, the Oscar movies are doing well in limited release, keeping the arthouse and the critically acclaimed films alive. So far, Wonder Woman, Dunkirk and Get Out are still the champs.
Let’s look at the box office (domestic only) for the contenders:
Wonder Woman $412 million
Dunkirk $188 million

The Big Sick $42 million
Victoria and Abdul $21 million
Detroit $16 million
Battle of the Sexes $12 million
Lady Bird $10 million
Three Billboards $7 million
The Florida Project $4 million
Many of these films will get a big bump as the awards start being announced, though
