Alexander Payne’s Downsizing features a brilliant performance by Hong Chau, and great work from Matt Damon and Christoph Waltz. You think the film is about materialism – and in a way, it is. We are what we buy. But the film becomes much more of an examination of what really matters when stuff no longer becomes a priority.
