The African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) will hold its 9th Annual AAFCA AWARDS ceremony on February 7th celebrating the best of the year in film, television and new media
Rob Reiner will be honored with the inaugural Stanley Kramer Award for Social Justice in recognition of his career-long activism and support to progressive politics. “Even as an actor, Rob Reiner made a statement. In the years he spent on ‘All in the Family,’” he was the liberal voice countering Archie Bunker’s extremely conservative one,” says Gil Robertson, president of AAFCA.
Jordan Peel winner of Best Director and Best Film for Get Out, Ava Duvernay and the cast of Queen Sugar are also expected to attend. Queen Sugar won the award for Best TV Series/Drama.

Rob Reiner – Stanley Kramer Award for Social Justice
Step – Best documentary winner
Queen Sugar – Best TV Series/Drama
Blackish – Best TV Series/Comedy
Detroit – Best Ensemble
The Awards will be handed out on February 7 in Hollywood, California.
