FX launches the official trailer for the new season to its Emmy-winning Atlanta. Yup, it’s almost time for Atlanta Robbin’ Season.
Donald Glover won two Emmys (Direction, Comedy Actor) for Atlanta Season 1. The critically acclaimed comedy cleaned up on the 2016-17 awards season. Yet, it failed to win the top prize against the Veep juggernaut. With Veep out of the way this year, is it time for Atlanta Robbin’ Season to dominate? We’ll have to see if Glover’s unique vision carries forward into its sophomore effort. Early signs look good. Atlanta Robbin’ Season‘s trailer, released today, carries the same visionary look and feel.
In Atlanta Robbin’ Season, two cousins work through the Atlanta music scene in order to better their lives and the lives of their families. “Earn Marks” (Donald Glover) is a young manager trying to get his cousin’s career off the ground. “Alfred Miles” (Brian Tyree Henry) is a new hot rapper trying to understand the line between real life and street life. “Darius” (Lakeith Stanfield) is Alfred’s right-hand man and visionary. “Van” (Zazie Beetz) is Earn’s best friend and the mother of Earn’s daughter.
Donald Glover serves as Executive Producer, along with Paul Simms, Dianne McGunigle and Stephen Glover. Atlanta is produced by FX Productions.
Atlanta Robbin’ Season premieres Thursday, March 1 at 10 PM ET/PT on FX.
