HBO’s ‘Sharp Objects’ Drops Teaser Trailer

HBO’s Sharp Objects unveiled its first teaser trailer before the Westworld Season 2 premiere. It’s widely assumed this will be HBO’s big Emmy 2019 Limited Series, particularly thought to dominate the actress race with Amy Adams the presumed front-runner already. Makes us wonder, though, when Big Little Lies premieres later this year, will it be a Drama Series or another Limited Series entry…Could be quite the showdown if it’s the latter.

Sharp Objects is based on Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn’s novel about a reporter (Adams) who returns to her small town home to cover a murder. It also stars Patricia Clarkson, Chris Messina, Eliza Scanlen, Elizabeth Perkins and Matt Craven.

It looks fantastic as does Amy Adams, who appears destined to become our generation’s Glenn Close at the Oscars (having zero Oscars despite giving a bevy of amazing performances).

Sharp Objects premieres July 2018 on HBO.
