Indiewire gathered a few critics to ask them what their favorites were and almost all, by an overwhelming margin, chose Roma as the Best Film and Alfonso Cuaron as Best Director. Roma is a breathtaking deep dive into Cuaron’s childhood in Mexico, and is really about women cleaning up the messes men make of things. It’s well deserving of this honor.
