A few weeks ago I was told to keep an eye out for Natalie Portman’s Vox Lux and not to underestimate her in the film or race. Well, here is our first look at the actress as Celeste.
We’re introduced to teenage Celeste who has gone through a tragedy, but after performing at a memorial service, she is catapulted into stardom as the performance goes viral. But, idols fall and Celeste goes from international superstar to fallen star.
Fast forward to 2017, Celeste wants to mount a comeback. The indomitable, foul-mouthed pop savior must overcome her personal and familial struggles to navigate motherhood, madness and monolithic fame.
Brady Corbet writes and directs. Sia performs original songs. Vox Lux is released in NY and LA on December 7, 2018, expanding nationwide December 14, 2018.
Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think and whether Portman will nab a spot in the Supporting actress race?
