Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Favourite dives into Queen Anne’s court in a way that only Lanthimos can. Taking Deborah Davis’ script, Lanthimos worked with Tony McNamara to spice things up. Lonely, depressed and suffering from gout, Queen Anne is wickedly played by Olivia Colman who just snagged a Golden Globe for her performance.
