The BAFTA TV Craft Awards were held last night in London in a ceremony hosted by Stephen Mangan. The top winner of the night was Amazon/BBC’s limited series A Very English Scandal, which stars Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw. The series won three awards including direction (Stephen Frears) and editing of a fiction program. Showtime’s Patrick Melrose and AMC/BBC America’s Killing Eve each won two.
This is yet another feather in the cap of A Very English Scandal – once seen as a dark horse contender at the Emmys but now appears to be picking up significant steam. Whishaw received a Golden Globe for his supporting performance last January.
The main categories will be presented Sunday, May 12.
