This week, the Water Cooler Gang look at new the season from Emmy front-runner Veep. Plus, we cover the sophomore season from Sandra Oh’s Killing Eve and dive into Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone.
Pollen isn’t the only thing Spring brings. This week, it’s a week of multiple major television premieres, and we’re diving into them on the podcast. First up, AMC/BBC America’s Killing Eve returns without writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Does Season 2 continue the excellence of its freshman season? Or is it too early to tell? Then, fresh off his smash horror film Us, Jordan Peele brings his perspective to the classic The Twilight Zone. We’ve seen Kumail Nanjiani’s “The Comedian.” Does it effectively transport us to another time and dimension? Then, HBO’s political comedy classic Veep returned last weekend for its seventh and final season. Does the show have anything new to say, or is it pretty much business as usual?
On April 29 long-time podcast listener Kevin Dillon contributes his Our Favorite Movies entry in Michael Gondry’s 2004 masterpiece Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Be sure to catch up before we kick off the conversation.
We close our podcast, as always, with the Flash Forward to the media we’re most anticipating in the upcoming week.
