Listener Kevin Dillon joins the Cooler Gang to present one of his favorite movies, 2004’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Hopefully, you won’t want to erase the memory of this week’s podcast. The Cooler Gang is joined by listener Kevin Dillon as he presents his entry in the Our Favorite Movies series, 2004’s Oscar- winning Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Starring Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey, Spotless Mind tells the story of Clementine and Joel, two lovers whose difficult path to love leads them to erase unpleasant memories of each other. Directed by Michael Gondry from an Oscar-winning screenplay by Charlie Kaufmann, the film is widely acclaimed as one of the very best films of the 2000s. Kevin talks to us about what he loves in the film, and why it’s one of his very favorite movies.
But first, Kevin joined our podcast on a particularly good week for him. See, Kevin is a massive comic book fan, and he LOVED Avengers: Endgame. But what did Joey and Clarence think about it (Megan hasn’t seen it yet)? With a Cinemascore of A+ and a massive world-wide box office of $1.2 billion, does the culmination of 10 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe stand a chance at a Best Picture Oscar nomination? Does Disney even care? Plus, Joey describes his “touching” moment while watching it.
We close our podcast, as always, with the Flash Forward to the media we’re most anticipating in the upcoming week.
